Catching up on unanswered questions #2

1 - It’s a half and half situation. Sometimes I wear them, sometimes I end up deciding to go for something more comfortable even if the heels look better. I usually wear them for photos though because where I don’t have a tripod or anyone taking photos for me I don’t really have much control over the height I can take photos at, but I do have control over the height I can be to look the best and show the outfits best in them.
2 - They were from Sheinside, I got them for free but I think they’re about $70. They’re quite tall so they’re a bit difficult at first, but the ankle strap makes it a little easier. They’re about as comfortable as you’d expect for tall heels really.
3 - Sorry I never answered this sooner but I’ll just give you this ♥
4 - It all started last October when Olive Clothing contacted me and invited me to visit their store in Cheltenham and pick a few things, then as my fanbase on lookbook grew I got more and more offers from places to look around online stores and pick the things I like.
5 & 6 - Thank you! I label where everything is from on Lookbook and in descriptions on here, so it’d probably be easier checking that than me giving a list. :) -
Catching up on unanswered questions

1 - I don’t really have any photos from my tomboy period I’m afraid. Before starting Lookbooking I was never really in the habit of taking many photos.
2 - I actually have no idea how many! I am struggling to fit everything in my wardrobe now though. And what I do is adjust the levels to get the lighting right, add 4 different gradient maps (beige to white on 5-16% opacity, red to yellow on hard light, 3-9% opacity, pastel rainbow at about 24-40% opacity and black to white on luminosity at about 60-80% opacity) then I size the image down to about 800 pixels wide and use an unsharp mask.
3 - I think short people can definitely wear maxi skirts or dresses! It’s just all about getting the proportions right and finding one that won’t drag on the floor. I’m currently in the process of trying to find a mint green pleated one myself!
4 - Hopefully either English or Viking Studies
5 - They’re just tights, usually 40 denier black tights. I see a lot of distinctions made by people outside England of tights/pantyhose/stockings, but here we just have tights really.
6 - No problem! :) -

And the second giveaway!

This time hosted by Sheinside and the rules are much the same.

That’s it!
This giveaway ends June 30th.
Good luck and feel free to enter both giveaways if you want, you’re not restricted to just one. -

China Doll Boutique review
Firstly I have quite a build up of questions to answer! I’ll get around to that soon I promise.
Secondly, I have two giveaways to post! So watch this space tomorrow.
Now, I’ve said before (I think) that China Doll Boutique is one of my very favourite online shops.
Well I had another lot of items from there recently and thought a review might be a good idea!
I got this lace top:
As seen here
(http://lookbook.nu/look/3567711-Tiptoe-through-the-true-bits)
And these shorts:
As seen here:
One of the things I love about China Doll Boutique is how the items arrive: all neatly and carefully wrapped in pink tissue. It’s that kind of small touch that makes something seem really special.
Both the items are really nice quality. The lace top is just like my lace dress from there: very delicate and very pretty but nicely stretchy and very comfortable. The shorts didn’t have a size listed on them so I hoped I’d be lucky. They ended up being size medium and a touch too big but that’s more my fault than anything.
Both the items arrived so quickly as well, which was lovely.Pros:
+ Good quality items
+ Very reasonable prices
+ Nhuc Tran(the owner) is absolutely lovely and a pleasure to deal with
+ Quick delivery
+ Lovely packaging
Cons:
- The shorts didn’t have a size or measurement listed. (but most of the items on there do)
There’s a reason why China Doll Boutique is one of my favourite online stores and it’s because I’ve never had a bad experience from there. And as per usual, onto the lookbook look title songs:
#1 Los Campesinos! - Tiptoe Through The True Bits
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53LOaGIXGmM
I love Los Campesinos! so when they released this as a free download I was suitably excited. It’s good. Listen to it because it deserve to be listened to.
#2 Ringo Deathstarr - Swirly
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_bu0aACl6k
One of my favourite current shoegaze bands.
#3 Johnny Foreigner - Yes! You Talk Too Fast
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzRJwQl21vQ
:c Listening to their older stuff always makes me slightly disappointed with their newest album. Everyone else I know who knows them seems to love the new album though(same goes for Cloud Nothings. If you happen to be someone who prefers the self titled album to Attack on Memory chances are I’ll love you forever because you’re a rare breed) -
Found this gorgeous little purse with Jean-Marc Nattier’s Madame Henriette en Flore in a new vintage shop that’s opened up for £4 today! (Also my deer nail transfers arrived in the post, yay!)
Wanted to reblog this from my other blog to here. It seemed appropriate!
