6 Historical Fashions (that I wish I’d been around to see)
Just realised I had a list of 6 and #4 twice. Whoops! Edited it from 5.
I’ve got a review post planned soon for China Doll Boutique (one of my absolute favourite online stores) but until then, to tide things over, I thought this would make for something resembling interesting.#1 Gibson Girl Hair

Not going to lie, I often try to attempt Gibson Girl hair and I don’t do too well. As soon as it’s a little longer I might succeed properly. I just love how large and perfectly piled it all is, it’s almost a very early precursor to the ubiquitous topknot of today.#2 The Artistic Dress Movement

With an emphasis on flowing lines and natural beauty and an unmistakeable pre-raphaelite grace to it, I always think the artistic dress movement was one of the loveliest counter-culture dress styles in history.
#3 Merveilleuses

Fashionable French women reacting to the end of the revolution by dressing like Greek statues with their boobs falling out…what’s not to love?
#4 Stomachers

Such a fancy way of finishing off a dress. I can only imagine how fun it must have been to have different stomachers to coordinate with dresses but that’s just because I’m one of those people who loves to find new ways of wearing something.#5 The French Court brand of peasant style

I can imagine to actual working class people of the time it was probably quite offensive to have Marie Antoinette and her privileged friends prancing about in simple dresses thinking they’re living some kind of pseudo-peasant lifestyle, but it didn’t half look nice if the paintings are to be believed.#6 Giant 18th Century Hair

I read somewhere recently that these weren’t actually wigs like I’d always assumed, but usually their own hair piled up and exaggerated through extensions and smaller hairpieces. If that is the case then it makes it even more impressive. Also if I was an 18th century woman with huge hair I would really want Gainsborough to paint my portrait; he really knew how to do justice to giant pouffy hair. -
Sorry for the hefty post

I have two problems with rings.
#1 I have tiny little fingers and rings always fall off them so I can hardly ever buy them.
#2 I have to wear a ring on the middle finger of my left hand or I’m sure bad things will happen. I’m not sure why, but it all feels wrong if that finger is empty.
Up until recently I always wore a little perfectly fitting translucent blue onyx ring on that finger, but that’s gone missing and luckily this Romwe ring has been small enough to fit. A little loose, granted, but it actually stays on for once unlike almost every other ring in existence. I love it so much, it’s so pretty and fancy and yet somehow manages not to be overbearing.
The skirt in this outfit is DIY (made from a dress) and the top is River Island.

I had a moment recently where I had to step back and go “Woah.” Every week I flick through Look magazine and every week I see AX Paris adverts without fail, then recently I was contacted by AX Paris wanting to send me a dress! I mean I know it’s a bit of an arbitrary marker considering I get quite a few offers of free clothes these days, but the fact it was a brand whose adverts I’m so accustomed to seeing every week and they’ve now seen me… I don’t know, it was a weird feeling.
Anyway how precious is this dress? It’s so bright in person. So summery! I’m having a difficult relationship with neon - I like it but find it hard to fit esaily into my wardrobe - so dresses like this I find a great way to incorporate it subtly.
The blazer is Romwe, the bag Oasap and the shoes Sheinside

Can I just start this by saying DIGRUIGYUREYTG7REGY, this dress. Agh. Pastel mint, collar, perfect length… okay I had to tweak the 80s prom dress sleeves a little but it’s basically my ideal dress.
As soon as I saw it on Romwe I knew I had to own it, and I am so pleased that I now do.
Agh.
HUgygfg.
Dress love.

I’ve noticed a thing recently. Since I cut my hair last year I stopped getting beeped/honked at in the same volume. Now that it’s past shoulder length it’s started up again. Do a couple of inches of hair really make that much difference in the white van approval rating? It’s really quite bizarre.
Anyway this dress - how cute is it? It’s another Romwe dress and I’m in love with the deer print. The necklace is from Rings and Tings.Aaanyway, usual final point, Lookbook look song titles.
Did anyone notice I’ve been trying to make them match the outfits recently? Porbably not but I wanted to try.
#1 Seapony - Dreaming

Perfect sunny day music. Seapony are just so cute, and perfect for the weather that now seems to have passed in England.
#2 Ringo Deathstarr - Kaleidoscope
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxyYPlv4RVs
I feel like I’ve used this one before but I don’t care. Ringo Deathstarr are gr8 and I wish I was Alex Gehring
#3 Talulah Gosh - Spearmint Head
Only I couldn’t find it on youtube so instead you’ll get another Talulah Gosh song because it’s wonderful and surprisingly depressing

#4 Los Campesinos! - Drop It Doe Eyes

And my all time favourites, Los Campesinos! and every time I listen to this one I miss Aleks so much. -
Sunny Days

It’s been such lovely weather recently - I’m not used to it! The shirt here is from topshop, the satchel Oasap and the skirt Romwe (the ice cream is Co-op but I’m sure no one is really interested in that.)
I don’t usually take my camera with me, but I’ve been trying to remember it more often in the nice weather, and it turned into a little impromptu photoshoot in a field earlier this week.
I even managed to get a snap of my boyfriend striking a pose
I swear it is the hardest thing to get a “serious” photo of him! His facebook profile pictures are all him striking the strangest poses
But I hope the warm weather lasts because sunny days are such a nice change
(shirt and shorts both Romwe. Shoes from Primark)
Hii pretty :3 I love your style ♥ And I really want visit England but now I can't ): so, can you take some pictures and do some video or somethig like that of the place you life? :D

Hi! Oh that’s a shame :(
But definitely, that’s a lovely idea :) Next sunny day, or at least day where it isn’t raining, I’ll try to get some photos.
Not sure on a video though!
Since you don't attend a uni, what do you do with your days? Do you have a job of some sort?
Anonymous
I’ve been at college up until last week finishing off A-Levels.
And now I’m hunting for a full-time job for the next year or so while I save up a bit for uni.
sorry to be so nosy, but I just read the last question, so you don't go to school?
Anonymous
Nope, schooling stops at 16 in England.
(post 16 is then 6th form which can be at a school or college until you finish A Levels, but isn’t really classed as “school” usually.)
Hi, I like your blog :) Just curious, do you miss high school or did you hate it?
Anonymous
I didn’t really hate it, but I don’t really miss it either.
I was always quite quiet and passive towards anything that happened there so there’s not much to miss, but at the same time nothing bad enough happened for me to hate it.
A lot of indifference towards it.
Hi. I really really like your looks on lookbook, plus your pretty face and vintage style of your photos. Hihi where do you edit photos? :)
Anonymous
Aw thank you!
I use photoshop to edit photos! :)
hi! clothes can be so ridiculously expensive, so i was wondering how you have the money to buy so much cute clothing! do you have an awesome job, wait for sales or...?~
I get sent a lot of stuff for free. :)
So far this year I’ve actually only bought two items of clothing (a £5 dress from ebay and a £30 pair of boots from topshop) and apart from that everything I’ve been getting have been things I’ve been allowed to pick and get sent for free from companies looking to do Lookbook collaborations. :)
will you ship the dress anywhere?
Anonymous
It’s Romwe who will be shipping the dress as it’s a sponsored giveaway, so I should think so! :)
